Haitian Tree of Life

I've been to Haiti twice.  I may not be able to go for a while.  But the people, the colors, the liveliness and the potential for agricultural lushness remains in my head and heart.

The Haitian situation weighs heavy on my heart.  I pray for the churches, the NGOs and other organizations seeking to help.  I've been asking God to show me a way that I can contribute, perhaps even in a way using my desire to paint.

I also love the image of the Tree of Life.  The most famous images, that I know of, are from the American Shaker tradition.  Paul Klee painted a Tree of Life.  Penny Gordon-Chumbley has now painted her version, Haitian style.

What does this have to do with a call to help the people of Haiti?   I hope to find a way to take the image and sell cards or t-shirts or something to raise funds for the Croix des Bouquet clinic.  I have the seeds of an idea.  I'm praying that God will show me how to water and nurture these seeds.  Will you pray with me?
