Where We Lived In Germany

And I use the word "lived" intentionally; we did not just sleep and eat here.  We enjoyed every minute that we spent here, thanks to the gracious hosts, Baron and Baroness von Crailsheim.  Do yourself a favor and check out the Untours company.  They made this wonderful week possible.

Remaining in the von Crailsheim family for approximately 800 years, this castle is tucked away in the Bavarian/Franconian countryside in the quiet village of Sommersdorf.  A moat surrounds the castle, making evenings quiet and peaceful.  The only sounds we heard at night were the ducks and waterfowl splashing in and out of the moat.  The sky went completely black at night, with no light pollution around us.

Our apartment contained a bathroom with tub and shower, an eat-in, fully equipped kitchen, our bedroom and the loveliest sitting room, that overlooked the castle grounds and the moat.
