It All Began in Munich

Munich captivated us.  It was clean and pretty and lively, but not too crazy.  There had been a week-long parish carnival/festival straight across the street from our hotel, but by the time we arrived, it was closing down.  Yet it was fascinating to watch the daily progress of dismantling the carnival--the ferris wheel, the food booths, the merry-go-round and the walk-ways.  And it was comforting to hear the chimes of the church late at night and in the morning.

We walked and trammed and bused in Munich.

What a snappy subway station!

We loved the central part of town, an easy bus ride away.

At the City Hall, we watched the changing of the hours by watching this amazing clock; the figures would dance and spin.  Crowds would gather and clap and all were delighted.

The rest of the City Hall looked like this.  Doesn't your City Hall look like this too?
